Imago

The Trinion Empire lasted one hundred and fifty-seven years, spanning one hundred and twelve worlds in eighty systems. It fell in just four years once the Zact Rebellion declared open war.

No one blames the Zact for wanting the Empire gone. The line of Trinion Emperors started as brutal tyrants and got worse, moving on to genocide, breeding programs and forming a state religion around themselves near the end. Only the Nictus-Trio, known far and wide as spacelings, really believed, but then thanks to the breeding programs, Emperor Nictus Trinion really was our creator.

Problem is, once the Empire fell, it turned out that they were the only ones capable of doing to job of running a star empire. The Zact and their financial backers lost control pretty fast thanks to factioning and now it’s every man for themselves out here in space. The colonies are on their own, the Zact high command have set themselves as nobility across a half dozen worlds, and the Remnants of the Empire have turned to piracy if they haven’t found their own little worlds with nations to rule.

My name is Adrian Gable, a spaceling who managed to rise up through the ranks to become High Commander… in the Imperial Fleet. I was the bad guy, the bad guy. Myself and my ship Supreme Eye of The Eternal Empire, figure into probably half the war stories of the Zact. Needless to say, my side lost and I got to watch my god obliterated by orbital bombardment.

That was then. This is now. The galaxy has become a very mean place and I’m not okay with that. My plan is to go out there, find work, and maybe do some good along the way. I know I’m not a villain anymore, I don’t know what I am. Same goes for The Supreme Eye. We can’t be what we are, we don’t know what we will be. We are becoming, like a caterpillar in a cocoon. And that’s why I changed her name to Imago.

  1. just finished episode 1, gotta say I like where this is going, Gable seems like a character that thinks on his feet and I like the amount of world building you’ve done with 1 episode. The virtual crew replacement is cool and seems to still have a lot to learn. All in all very enjoyable.
